Man it is hot!! I have been fishing a lot of early mornings and late evenings in July and on thing I’ve learned that if its too hot for you to fish then its probably too hot for the fish as well. The bite between 6am and 1pm has been awesome! During those early mornings the fish are happy and feeding before the water temps get too high. Lots of Redfish and Trout feeding on finger mullet and grass shrimp during the low tides which is so fun to watch before the sun gets up.beaufort fly fishing guideBeaufort fly fishing guidesbeaufort fly fishing guide

Fly Fishing- Low tide fishing and Flood Tide fishing has been great during the early mornings and late evening. Nothing better than an early morning low tide watching redfish crawl around the skinny water flats with there back out. Watching those fish do that during the sunrise is an unreal experience as a fly angler. Flood Tide Fishing has also been great during the early morning and late evening for tailing Redfish in the grass. Lots of big Jacks and Tarpon around too which has been fun!

Light Tackle- Early mornings are the key right now no matter what the tide is. I have been using a lot of live baits including mud minnows and finger mullet. Have had some great early morning topwater action with the Speckled Sea Trout and good Redfish/Trout action on soft plastic artificial. If the bite is tough then cut mullet has been the ticket in the afternoons when the temperature heats up. Have been catching lots of other summer time species including Jacks, Triple Tail, Sharks, and Tarpon!
