November stayed warmer than usual this year, with average air temps around 65°F and water temps sitting close to 65°F as well. As the temperatures dropped through the month, the water really started clearing up, and it’ll continue to get even cleaner as we move into winter. The improved clarity made sight-fishing easier and helped the overall consistency of the fishing.
Redfishing was strong in all conditions. On the colder days, the fish were tightly grouped up, making them easier to target. On the warmer days, there were plenty of singles cruising around and both situations produced great action on fly and spin.
The highlight of the month was when 10-year-old Austin caught his first two redfish on fly all on his own. That morning almost got canceled because it was cold and windy, but it ended up being the best day of the month. We had over 20 fish landed between fly and spin.

Fly Fishing Update
In November, the fish are usually fired up, so fly color and pattern don’t matter much. A simple 3–4 inch black fly always works, but the most important part is just getting it in front of the fish before they see the boat.
Thanks for reading the short recap from the month of November! With cooler temperatures coming, December should bring even better water clarity and great sight-fishing opportunities.
