August 2025 Beaufort, SC Fishing Report: Recap

Fly fishing Beaufort, SC

Welcome to your latest August 2025 Beaufort, SC Fishing Report: Recap!

August started off super hot, with air temps staying high most of the month. Toward the last week, we finally got a late-season cold front that cooled things down a bit. Water temps stayed between 80–90 degrees, and we had plenty of afternoon thunderstorms that helped cool the water temporarily.

Fishing was really good overall. Evening flood tides were productive for redfish, and the early morning low tides (especially right at daylight) produced good action too. On calm and clear days, even mid-day could be productive.

Species caught this month included redfish, tarpon, jacks, triple tail, and sharks. The highlight of the month for was landing a 4 ½ foot lemon shark on fly (pictured below).
