Welcome to the July 2025 Beaufort, SC Fishing Report Forecast! July in Beaufort means hot weather, warm water, and plenty of opportunities to get on fish. Whether you’re out early in the morning or taking advantage of cooler conditions after an afternoon storm, the fishing has been steady, and there’s something out there for everyone right now.
Weather & Conditions Forecast: What to Expect
- Average Air Temp: 80-100°F
- Average Water Temp: ~88°F
- Afternoon Thunderstorms: Daily—usually brief, 15-minute pop-ups that cool things off and bring prime evening sight fishing conditions.
It’s hot. Like really hot. If you’re heading out, don’t just bring water, bring electrolytes (Body Armour, Liquid IV, something with real hydration). Soda doesn’t count. Start hydrating the night before and skip the beers if you’ve got an early morning trip. Trust me, your body (and your fishing) will thank you.
Storm-wise, July is more of the same. You’ll likely see a quick pop-up storm most afternoons, but they usually blow through in under an hour and can leave behind slick, cool water that makes for awesome evening fishing.
Best Times to Fish in Beaufort, SC
For technical sight fishing, timing is everything. The ideal windows are:
- Pre-sunrise launches for topwater action and calm conditions
- Late afternoon into dusk for (post-storm) flood tides and tailing redfish
Note: These timing suggestions apply specifically to technical skiff trips, not the family-friendly bay boat outings.
If you’re doing a family-style trip with three or more people and we’re soaking bait, the time of day matters less. We’re going to find fish either way.
In the News: Tiny Creek, Big Red
If you missed it, Flylords Magazine recently featured one of our local stories in their Angler Story of the Week. It highlights an unforgettable day chasing redfish in a narrow Beaufort creek (a reminder that sometimes the best moments happen in the most unexpected places). Fly Fishing Forecast
Black flies are still the go-to this time of year. They show up well in stained water and low light, which is what we’re dealing with most of the time. If you’re fly fishing with me, come ready. That means being able to cast in different directions, with or against the wind, and being steady on the deck. If you know how to double haul, even better- it helps a lot when the wind picks up or you need extra distance.
July Challenge: Be Ready for the Photo
If you’re planning to take a photo with your catch, have everything ready before the fish comes out of the water. Don’t hold a fish while you’re fumbling with your phone or figuring out your angles. Have your camera settings dialed in, snap a quick shot, and get the fish back in the water.
It shows respect for the fish and makes a big difference in its chance of survival.
